On March 14, 2025 the Shuswap Rotary Club presented us with a cheque of $2000 to help fund our 2025 Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. We are very appreciative of this donation. It will help the Shuswap Dragon Boat Society/Friends Abreast reach out in a bigger way to make the Salmon Arm community more aware the importance of mammograms for early detection of breast cancer.

Salmon Arm Royal Canadian Legion Branch #62

The Shuswap Dragon Boat Society/Friends Abreast sincerely thanks the Salmon Arm Royal Canadian Legion Branch #62 for their very generous donation. I would like to acknowledge Lance Ewan,president, JP Flament, Chair for Ways and Means and John Howard, Director. Their generous donation will help offset some of our team costs. A portion of the donation will go to our Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign in October. Breast Cancer Awareness in the Salmon Arm community is one of the Shuswap Dragon Boat Society mandates. Shuswap Community Foundation

The Shuswap Dragon Boat Society sincerely thanks the Shuswap Community Foundation for awarding our group with funds as part of the City of Salmon Arm Grant in Aid program. These funds are awarded to assist with the design and construction of a new Dragon Boat storage shed to be placed on the Salmon Arm wharf. This new storage shed will provide safe and secure storage for Friends Abreast , Shuswap Grey Grebes and teams from the Shuswap Rowing and Paddling. This beautiful building will promote the sport of Dragon Boating in Salmon Arm for years to come. It fits perfectly with the goals of the Shuswap Community Foundation to unite those who care about our communities with those organizations addressing the needs of the Shuswap.

Hindbo Construction Group

The Shuswap Dragon Boat Society wish to express our very sincere thanks to the owners and staff of Hindbo Construction for their generous donation as project manager and builder of our new storage shed building completed in November 2021. This project could not have been possible without their work in securing suppliers for all aspects of this project. As well, Hindbo Construction donated monies for our new team T-shirts in November 2019. Hindbo is a family owned general contracting company that serves the Thompson Okanagan areas in BC. They are very committed to serving and helping local non-profit organizations. Thank you to Don and Coady Hindbo and Doug Wall for your continued support.

City of Salmon Arm

The Shuswap Drag Boat Society thanks the City of Salmon Arm for their ongoing support of Dragon Boating in the Salmon Arm Bay. The staff assistance during the new wharf shed project was most appreciated. As well, the City continues to support the use of the floating dock at the wharf for several Dragon Boat teams. We also want to thank the City for their support during Covid 19.

viaSport British Columbia, Local Sport Relief Fund

We are excited to announce that in February 2021 the Shuswap Dragon Boat Society was successfully awarded funding through the Local Relief Fund. We thank viaSport BC for their generous financial support in helping the Shuswap Dragon Boat Society get through a difficult financial year.

Salmar Community Association, Salmon Arm

Since inception, the Association has put 100% of the profits from the Salmar Classic back into theatre improvements and in the community. They have given out hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations to local organizations and residents supporting healthcare, education, sports and the arts. They have built playgrounds, fountains, trails, as well as better futures for local graduates through our scholarship program.
