Our team gives us fun, support, and exercise. Festivals give us those too, but also something to aim for and competitiveness. Win or not, the fun and camaraderie goes up a level. We start in June with our own Salmon Arm festival, and have the opportunity to compete and meet up with other teams, and old friends. This is followed in July by Vernon; and in August by Kamloops – which coincides with Ribfest and a car show, what else could you ask for? Some members also join up with other teams to go to Penticton, the Senior Games, and further afield, even abroad. Our VP Margaret Hinchliff is off to New Zealand in April this year for the International Breast Cancer Dragon
Boat Festival, how cool is that! The opportunities are endless, and so are the experiences and fun!
