On June 24th we had our first dragon boat festival since 2019. It was great to see teams from around the Okanagan. The waters were rough and windy but it didn't dampen our spirits. We had five brand new paddlers who got to experience their first ever festival. The carnation ceremony was moving as always. It was a great day.
Fun, exhaustion and heat! The three words to describe the Vernon Festival on July 22nd. Due to Margaret's determination, we had a full boat for each of our 3 races. Many thanks to all who came, and to the extras from other teams who joined us.
Unfortunately, we didn't have enough paddlers to go to any other festivals, and we weren't the only ones to suffer this problem - the BC55+ dragon boat races were also cancelled, as not enough teams had registered.
All dates are provisional and will be up-dated as they become available.
With great anticipation for next year - paddles up, let's go have fun!
